Last year around this time, I excitedly proclaimed my strategy to “be everywhere.”

By April, I realized it was an incredible failure.

In December, I decided that publishing to Medium was a largely worthless endeavor for me, and my stats prove it. Here’s December 2024 — my most popular month of the past year, and a month where for a while, I was publishing daily.

And there was one story that did the heavy lifting:

So I’m not going to publish (or re-publish) here regularly anymore. And Medium, I know it’s probably not you, it’s me.

I’ll likely republish posts I think will do well here.

I don’t want this platform to be the canonical place for my writing when my website turns 20 years old in mere weeks.

And I don’t want write the sort of stupid clickbait headlines that Medium routinely recommends to me.
